I love this dog...this is the neighbor dog Barney....he's kinda round, kinda odd...... but somehow I feel this unexplained kinship to him......

My family and UNO....

All families have traditions, but my family has UNO.

We play it every holiday we are together and we take it very seriously. It is a tournament, not just a game, including a grand prize and bragging rights to go with it. The prize isn't anything monumental, just a special edition UNO pack, but you would think it was solid gold the way my family members play.

Anna skunked us all in Montana to walk away the winner. She doesn't normally even play so the fact that she won was astounding. Bruce said that the only thing better than beating my brother Del was having Anna beat him.

The picture above shows my father (who was the Christmas 2007) champion, my brother and my husband hamming it up.

I wonder who will win this Christmas?

Why does my dog have Christmas tree breath?

She just can't explain it.....but we all have a pretty good idea why.

Miracles can happen.

Yesterday, my friend Elaine and I experienced an honest to God Christmas Miracle.

For as long as we have been friends we have been trying to get a nice family portrait of their family. It has taken planning, shopping for the perfect outfits, and timing between naps and extra-curricular activities. We have attempted this year after year and it just hasn't worked. Something always goes wrong....that is until yesterday : )
